This XR500 was gave from Honda France to Michel Chirouze a famous stuntman in 80's that keep in its private collection since now. This is the first year of the RFVC engine. He never did stunt with it.
It was upgraded in 600 from 1985 and then in 650 on the famous Dominator.
The 500 being the playful because of its capacity to rev up faster than the 600.
The XR500 was one of the most used motorbike by private riders on the Paris Dakar that year. Robust, reliable, she even won the women's category.
